How long does a carabiner last?

All FresKaro carabiners are designed to last at least ten years with proper maintenance and care. We only use 7075 AL material, which is machine stamped for durability.

So, how do I maintain a carabiner? It's just a clip, right?

Depending on your usage, use a dry wax-based lubricant to clean the hinge area where the spring is located. Always wash your carabiner after coming into contact with salt water or salt air. Remove any grit or dirt particles.

Are these carabiners suitable for climbing since they are 12kN rated?

According to the UIAA, a climbing carabiner must have a minimum rating of 20kN. These 12kN carabiners are strong enough for various applications that do not pose a danger to climbers.
